Samina means “most beautiful” and Samines is a nickname given to me from a friend.
Saminamary Sattar from Samines; a self-employed, freelance designer maker specialising in embroidery, fascinators and teaching online workshops.
Saminamary studied at London College of Fashion specialising in FdA Fashion Embroidery and since graduating, her first job saw her working with a high level department store John Lewis where she gained industry experience with John Lewis in Fashion Fabrics and the Haberdashery department, additional experience includes training as a style consultant, this gave her the bug to share her knowledge within adult education teaching Beginners Fashion and Embroidery and Family learning teaching children and parents all things craft. Other exposures include trading at Greenwich Market, selling fascinators and embellished jeans jackets and accessories.
With lockdown emerging she decided to go back to her first love and complete her Embroidery diploma to give her a deeper depth of knowledge in her embroidery, through collaboration with Illuminated Arts Peckham in teaching vulnerable adults embroidery through online workshops to improve their mental health wellbeing, she now teaches online embroidery to international clients she meets across the globe and in person embroidery courses at Islington Council.
This workshop is best suited for beginners to hand embroidery with basic embroidery knowledge, if this is your first time stitching with Saminamary you are most welcome!
